I wonder what Baby Toler will look like?

With my insatiable interest in all things memory, family history, albums, documenting time, I look through our family pictures and wonder what baby will look like.  I reflect on how many wonderful memories I had growing up and how so much I want to give that to our baby.  In two different happy worlds, Patrick's and mine came together.

1st Ultrasound

February 17th and 11 weeks pregnant, we had our first ultrasound appointment, it was truly magical.  In the darkened room, looking at the screen, we quickly saw our baby for the first time. We were completely transfixed to the screen, watching every motion and seeing and listening to baby's heart beating, 170 beats per minute, very strong!  Everything is healthy and growth rate is perfect.  Our due date is September 6th, which we had known before our appointment but it was nice to hear that baby's growing right on track.  A beautiful time of year in the Pacific Northwest for Baby Toler to be born.

Happy New Year & Pregnant!

On the morning of December 28th, we were packing for our long weekend trip to the Methow Valley when we learned I was pregnant!  What a wonderful way to start our trip.  We left completely peaceful, relaxed, full of anticipation and wonder.  The drive was absolutely beautiful entering into a sunny and snowy landscape.  We stayed at Rolling Huts by Tom Kundig, a local architect.  Each hut has a wood stove, a little 40" long "kitchen", and a platform bed you roll out your sleeping bags, one step up from camping, it was perfect!  We cross-country skied every day, even a trail right outside of our hut that goes along the river.  A memorable start to the new year, a new journey!
