Rowan's Snow Suit

It has been so cold the past couple weeks that we finally got to try out Rowan's snow suit. He looks adorable in it, especially with the bear ears! We are taking him up to the Olympic Mountains tomorrow to cut our Christmas tree so we'll get more pictures then!

Rowan's 1st Nordstrom Santa Picture

After our childbirth class reunion, we went to downtown's Nordstrom for Rowan's 1st picture with Santa. It was so cold outside waiting in line, Patrick and I took turns going into Nordstrom to keep warm with Rowan. We bundled him up in his cute red fleece sack, mittens, and hat and waited for 3 hours, I know, crazy to go on a Sunday afternoon but it was worth it! At least half that time we were in the Santa house keeping warm. The "elves" brought us all cookies and cider while we were waiting which was nice. Santa was so sweet with Rowan, congratulated us, and spoke to Rowan so sweetly. Here are some "behind the scenes" shots, the official portrait will be mailed in a couple weeks, can't wait to see it and will be sure to post it on his blog!

Childbirth Class Reunion

Today Patrick, Rowan, and I went to our Penny Simkin childbirth class reunion in the Seward Park/Columbia City neighborhood hosted at Mike and Allison's house with their son, Ezra. Mike and Allison were actually next door to our room in the hospital and Rowan and Ezra share the same birthday. It was so much fun seeing everyone again and seeing the cutest group of babies! We really enjoyed hearing everyone's birth stories. Once we got to the point of having the group portrait of all the babies, Rowan was ready to take his nap and started having a melt down once we sat him on the couch. It was so cute seeing them all lined up and having babies on either side of Rowan! Here are some the pictures, unfortunately I was so focused on Rowan when he was crying I forgot to step back and get the whole group so I'm hoping someone else in the class will share a better group shot.

Bay Hay and Feed:Santa with Pets and Baby!

It was Bay Hay and Feed's annual Posing Pets with Santa picture taking time, a fund raiser for Kitsap Humane Society. I used to take my cat Lizard and get my picture taken with her, she would always wear a red dress for the Christmas portrait. My parents wanted to have Rowan in the picture with them and their terriers, Snowy and Scribbles. Rowan did great and here are some of the "behind the scenes" pictures, the actual picture will be in my parent's Christmas card, a real winner! Rowan got to meet Santa for the first time and I think he was curious!

1st Thanksgiving-Part 2

We spent Thanksgiving at Patrick's Dad's historic farm in Oregon, Rowan's first road trip and visit to the farm. He enjoyed looking at all the animals and hearing all their funny sounds, goats, chickens, horses, and the farm cats and dog. It was great spending time with everyone at the farm and the weather the day after Thanksgiving was beautiful, perfect for taking pictures.

1st Thanksgiving-Part 1

We had our Thanksgiving gathering at my parent's house the Sunday before Thanksgiving because we then went to Patrick's Dad's farm in Oregon for Thanksgiving Day. I thought Rowan looked pretty cute in his little vest!

Rowan and Grandma

Rowan is getting ready with his Grandma Owen to go to the Christmas House on the island and is wearing his winter hat my parents got him in the Methow before he was born. Hard to believe it's getting small on him, I keep thinking he's still too tiny.

Rowan and Daddy

I love these pictures, Rowan's big smile and laughing with his daddy. He gets the biggest kick out of his daddy and they both light up when they are together. Melts my heart!

Halloween in Winslow

Winslow Way on Halloween was filled with people and all dressed up for Halloween. So many cute children's costumes including a baby dressed up as one of the wicked witch of the west's flying monkey's from Wizard of Oz. There were lots of bees and chick costumes as well as knomes, a surprising new trend! Rowan was a classic Baby Pumpkin! As much as I like any costume with an animal tail, I couldn't resist this little onsie costume, it fit him perfectly and the color looked great! It's hard to find Halloween costumes for a 2 month old baby. We met up with Allyssa and Holly who were adorning Danielle's fabulous head pieces.

Rowan in his Carryboo

This is Rowan's Carryboo knitted by my Aunt Diane, a wonderful knitter. It is so beautiful and he loves it, it's a sleeping bag with bear ears! It is a precious gift that we will treasure!

Rowan at the Pumpkin Patch

Rowan had his first visit to the pumpkin patch on Day Road. It was a beautiful fall afternoon and we saw lots of different kinds of pumpkins, he especially liked the Cinderella pumpkins because they were the brightest orange. There were lots of kids running around the fields collecting their pumpkins in their wagons and riding in the buggy that two brown and white spotted horses pulled taking them through the nearby vineyards. My parents met us there to enjoy Rowan's first pumpkin experience too.

Here is Rowan enjoying the company of his musical bug friend! Rowan has become so expressive and focused on objects, it's so fun to see.
